Our chapter is dedicated to continuing its positive impact on the Pittsburgh community and globally through dynamic programs and collaboration with various organizations.  Our impact in these areas is motivated by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, International Program targets. 

The five 2018-2022 International Program targets are:

Achievement Awards

Alpha Alpha Omega provides scholarships based on requirements set forth by our Scholarship Committee to individuals seeking financial aid for college. 

Community Support

The Community Involvement Committee supports various charitable community organizations that uphold the mission and values of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Charitable Endowment 

Ivy Charitable Endowment, Incorporated, (ICE) is a non-profit 501(c)3 affiliate of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Alpha Omega Chapter.  ICE distributes proceeds from events and activities to benefit community service.


National and Civic Day of Service Events: 

National MLK Day of Recognition 

Alpha Alpha Omega partners with the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha for a unity breakfast to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., during the national MLK Day of Recognition.

Alzheimer’s Disease 

We recognize and celebrate the caregivers of persons affected by Alzheimer’s disease during the National Family Caregivers Month in September to “raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia”.

American Heart Association

Our participation in the American Heart Association “Pink Goes Red” campaign aims to promote heart healthy communities among vulnerable populations. 

National Alliance on Mental Illness

Our chapter supports the National Alliance on Mental Illness by taking part in the local NAMI walk to encourage “families and individuals affected by mental illness build better lives through education, support, and advocacy”.
