Welcome to the website of one of the oldest and most accomplished chapters in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated®constellation, formed to advance the ideals of sisterhood, advance scholarship achievement and provide service to All Mankind.
Alpha Alpha Omega has a long history of achieving impactful results together for families, youth and individuals who have been touched by poverty, mental health disorders, food insecurity, resource deficits etc. Our community has been additionally enriched by our efforts to advocate for social justice, build economic wealth and preserve our environment.
On the pages within, you will see evidence of the breadth of our reach and our lasting imprint on our community. You will also see evidence of how we have built our sisterhood through intentional efforts to uplift each other and forge relationships that are lifelong. We have done this work in the greater Pittsburgh community for nearly 100 years and will proudly celebrate our centennial anniversary in 2027. Before then, we will continue to build on our platform for success by obtaining measurable results and expanding our footprint in this region.
As Basileus for the 2024-2025 program years, I bring my excitement and profound commitment to continue our storied history that our founders would be proud of. We will achieve such pride through strategic action, intentionally and with measurable results. As we celebrate our upcoming 116 th Founders’ Day, we do so with so much pride that strengthens our sisterhood. Our celebration will convene some 200 of us who will collectively pledge to “capture a vision fair” and continue to be of ”service to all mankind”.
In April of 2025, you will find Alpha Alpha Omega at the centerpiece of the 94 th Great Lakes Regional Conference where we will be host extraordinaire. We expect that our collective force and presence will extend our Greater Together efforts in the Great Lakes Region.
As we continue to build our sisterhood, we welcome you to not only visit our website often, but we invite you Sorors to experience our work in action by attending an upcoming chapter meeting, event or reengaging with us through reactivation. We look forward to greeting you.
With Sisterly Affection,
Peggy B. Harris, MPA
